Plastic Lined Pipe Fittings in Northwest Florida
Our shop in Fairhope, Alabama, is about an hour from Pensacola, so the Panhandle's plants are close neighbors. Marspec Technical Products fabricates lined pipe spools there and supplies the PTFE-, PVDF- and polypropylene-lined fittings that join them. PTFE lined fittings in carbon and stainless steel are stocked; PVDF and polypropylene lined to order. Call (251) 625-4949 or contact us online with the sizes and liner you need.
The region's plants and media are covered in depth on our Pensacola and Northwest Florida page. The peninsula has a statewide Florida page, and the Mobile corridor across the state line has its own.
Panhandle plants and the fittings they use
Cantonment
On Old Chemstrand Road in Cantonment, a nylon intermediates complex makes adipic acid, hexamethylenediamine, and nylon fibers and resins, and Huntsman makes maleic anhydride on the same site. Its nitric acid plant is rated for up to 1,500 tons a day. Acid hot or strong enough to threaten stainless goes in PTFE-lined fittings with vented housings; at ambient temperature, 304L handles commercial-strength nitric acid. Polypropylene is never used for nitric acid. Where amines or ammonia are present, PTFE is the liner: amines and strong caustic attack PVDF, and we prefer PTFE for ammonia.
Lined instrument tees suit the sample and analyzer points on acid lines, giving a lined outlet without a separate nozzle. Blind flanges close off the branches left for future tie-ins.
Nearby, the Cantonment paper mill rebuilt a paper machine in 2007 to make lightweight linerboard, rated at 500,000 tons a year. A kraft mill's chemical feed systems move caustic and sulfuric acid, and PTFE-lined fittings handle both; PVDF stays off the strong caustic. The reclaimed water plant on Old Chemstrand Road, permitted for 22.5 million gallons a day, sends water to the mill and to a power station.
Water plants and Panama City
Water and wastewater plants from Pensacola and Milton to Fort Walton Beach and Panama City disinfect with chlorine or hypochlorite and dose pH- and corrosion-control chemicals. Commercial 12.5 percent bleach carries excess caustic at about pH 12 to 13, so we recommend PTFE-lined fittings for it; polypropylene is not used for hypochlorite. Where hypochlorite is generated on site at low strength, PVDF is an option. In Panama City, a pine chemicals biorefinery distills crude tall oil. Fractionation runs hotter than any liner is rated for, so lined fittings belong on the cooler chemical feed and wastewater lines around such a plant.
Shapes, sizes and options
Elbows come in 90° and 45° patterns, plus 90° reducing elbows that turn and change size in one piece. Tees include equal, reducing and reducing run tees, while short-stack tees, short-stack crosses and standard crosses keep branches compact. Standard and lug-body instrument tees take gauges and transmitters, and laterals bring a branch in at 45°.
Concentric and eccentric reducers, reducing flanges, and scalloped and straight-bore reducing flanges handle size changes, and blind flanges close a line. Spacers come in PTFE, PVDF or polypropylene, solid or armored. Fully jacketed fittings go with jacketed spools for steam or hot oil, and custom spools run up to 20 ft.
Housings are carbon steel or 304/316 stainless, from 1/2" through 12". Grounding lugs, extended vent couplings, special coatings and fixed flanges in place of rotating ones are available on request. Dimensions for each shape are on our lined pipe and fittings page, and liner thickness, flange and bolt torque tables are on Technical Details.
Matching what is already installed
Replacement work starts with a tape measure and a look at the flange. Note the flange class, the liner, the housing, and the center-to-face or face-to-face dimension of the fitting coming out. Our fittings conform dimensionally to ANSI B16.5, so standard shapes line up with the B16.5 flanged fittings already in a rack. A fabrication time comes with every quote, so tell us your required date when you request a quote.
Lined valves for the same service are on our lined valves page and our Northwest Florida valve page. Strainers, spacers and blinds are listed on our Florida accessories page.
Standards
Our lined pipe and fittings comply with ASTM F1545, which also governs the identifying markings that lined fittings carry on their flanges. Spark testing at a minimum of 10,000 volts covers every lined spool and fitting, and carbon steel housings are primed for field top-coating. The lined fittings we supply are welded to ASME B31.3, the process piping code, by welders certified to ASME Section IX. We bring more than half a century in lined pipe to the work.

FAQ: Plastic Lined Pipe Fittings in Northwest Florida
Which liner do you recommend for nitric acid fittings at a Cantonment plant?
PTFE in vented housings for hot or strong acid. At ambient temperature 304L stainless handles commercial-strength nitric acid, and polypropylene is never used for nitric acid.
Do Panhandle water plants need PTFE fittings for sodium hypochlorite?
We recommend PTFE for commercial 12.5 percent bleach because of its excess caustic. PVDF is an option only for dilute or lower-pH hypochlorite, and polypropylene is not used for hypochlorite at all.
Can you match lined fittings already installed at a Pensacola-area plant?
Yes. Send the flange class, liner, housing and measured dimension. Add a photo of the flange marking if it is legible, and we will confirm the match before we quote.
How close is your shop to the Panhandle?
Our spool shop is in Fairhope, Alabama, about an hour from Pensacola. Each quote carries a fabrication time, so send the fitting list as soon as an outage scope is set.
